Hi McClain. Great question! We've started using the term "elearning" in our workshop titles to represent WebCT. Our reason for the change -- WebCT is officially known as Blackboard Campus Edition (since it was purchased a few years ago by Bb), so to avoid any confusion, we decided to (instead of saying Blackboard training) go with a more generic term. So in answer to your question, no -- it is not a different platform from what you are used to.

That being said, we will be moving to (what is basically) WebCT Vista, an upgrade of what we currently are using. For the most part, you will not see any changes on your side except for in one area. There will be a major change in how your courses are created for the semester. (This will begin in Fall '09, and we'll send out plenty of email msgs reminding everyone.) Currently, if you have a course in SIS, that course is automatically created in WebCT. Well, because of the switch to PeopleSoft, we will be moving to a system in which you will need to request your course be created in WebCT. Again, that change will not happen until Fall 09, but I strongly recommend that everyone sign up for one of our Getting Started workshops.

Hope that answers your question. Let us know if you need anything else!

Hi Katrina. I just got the OEE mail yesterday and was excited to see all the new things ya'll are doing.

One question: what is 'elearning?' I cannot find out any info about it anywhere. Is it simply the newest version of webct or a totally different platform? Is the plan for this to be up and running before Spring semester begins? Thanks for your help.
